Since I started writing my blog, I have always dreamt about a photo session under the Eiffel Tower. While this spot is most probably the most frequented and popular among fashion bloggers … no wonder! The location is magnificent, and the view is breathtaking!
I had two near misses in the past, but each time there was either no time or no opportunity. I visited Paris for the first time for Paris Fashion Week. The schedule was tight, and there was no possibility at all of finding a few hours for taking photographs. The second time I was on my own – but without a photographer! A real opportunity appeared during my last visit to Paris and the photo session for Toyota Motor Poland with Grzegorz Krychowiak, which I have already written about here. Third time lucky! All that was left to do was to prepare the stylization. And no particular sensation here. The choice was again a double-breasted jacket. Exactly the same garment I presented at the photo session at the horse stud farm, – here is a link as a reminder
A beautiful double-breasted jacket with 2×6 buttons and manual cover stitching. This is the final call to present a linen jacket without construction and lining. During the photo session in Paris it was hot, so such a garment was the best choice. Who knows if this was not the last time I had it on this season.
A shirt with an Italian collar, with an exceptional Vichy-checked design, one of my favorite shirt designs (right after the plain white shirt). It goes very well with plain jackets and ties. It often adds good taste and expression to stylizations. The pattern is so universal that it goes well with casual combinations, even jeans and sweaters. Another advantage is that it has two buttons on the cuffs to regulate the fitting to the wrist.
I have already written above that a Vichy-checked shirt matches plain ties perfectly, but in defiance I present a tie with no pattern. Such combinations look equally as good; the fundamental issue is to match the pattern of the tie to the shirt for color and size. While I am not a big fan of the Hilfiger brand, I can say that their ties are of truly high quality. They tie beautifully, as can be seen in the photographs, and are interestingly made – the narrow part (the reverse) is made of plain silk, a detail that looks very interesting after tying. Sadly, this particular model is no longer available, but other similarly made models which I have described above are already available from Gomez.pl, where I bought my tie.
A cotton pocket handkerchief with a manually rolled, contrasting pink hem. Unfortunately, my model is no longer available, but there are many other interesting ones to choose from.
A recent buy. I have had it for two weeks now and we have become almost inseparable. To me, this is one of the greatest Omegas ever made. Moreover, this is the first wrist watch in history to obtain the Master Chronometer Certificate issued by the Swiss Federal Institute for Metrology (METAS), whose requirements are so high that, to date, only Omega has been able to satisfy them. In practice, this means that a certified chronometer is very precise and its operation is not disturbed by a magnetic field of a magnitude of 15,000 Gauss, known from MRI. To stop or even damage a standard watch, about 50 Gauss is enough; as a comparison, a fridge magnet has a power of about 100 Gauss.
Before purchasing my Omega, I thought for a long time about the model that has a pink gold bezel. I finally resolved to get a classic, more subdued watch with a navy blue face and a navy blue alligator skin strap. The only thing to do now is to enlarge my collection of shoes, bags, and belts with a selection of navy blue to go with the watchstrap. Who knows, I may go for another watch band in the future. I bought the watch at the Omega boutique at Three Crosses Square in Warsaw.
Classic, navy blue cotton chinos. Interestingly, I didn’t have to have them narrowed nor shortened. Such a good fit from a ready-made product is possible only if it’s Italian. Sadly, they are not available from online stores.
These navy blue tassel loafers are made of Saffiano leather, which is very durable, ageing more slowly than other leathers. The shoes were made with the famous Goodyear Welted method. They have a leather sole with a secured, covered stitch. The navy blue model is no longer available.
